GOVERNOR NASIR EL-RUFA’I PLANS TO ENGAGE 27,000 WOMEN FOR PLANTING OF ECONOMIC TREES IN KADUNA STATE

A simple but a well thought out policy or programme will create millions of jobs just as an ill-conceived policy or programme will throw millions of people out of their jobs. Leadership especially in this modern time requires a lot of thinking and initiatives .Leaders must think “outside  the box” in order to create “jobs” to their people. The responsibilities of modern governments from America to China have since shifted from “provision” of employment to “Creation” of employment.
“Provision” of employment is a situation whereby the government “employs” and “pays” people directly from the “public coffers”; on the other hand, employment “creation” is when the government makes “deliberate policies” and programmes that will bring in private sector investment in order to provide employment to the people. The policies could be through low taxes, or tax rebate or tax holiday etc. The business of most modern governments from America, Russia to China is building infrastructure and formulation of relevant policies as well as programmes that will make the environment favourable for both local and foreign direct investments thereby creating jobs to millions of people.
For any careful observer in Kaduna state would have noticed that since the assumption Governor El-rufa’I as the Governor of Kaduna state he has been driving the economy of the state towards private sector driven economy which is indeed the best way to go. More so, a lot of policies and programmes have been mapped out which will no doubt create a lot of employment opportunities to the people of the state now and in the near future.  
The commissioner for agriculture and Forestry Kaduna State has disclosed that the government of Kaunda State will engage 27,000 women from across the state for planting of economic tree; such as: MORINGA, SHEA BUTTER, CASHEW and NEEM etc. Furthermore, the government has approved the establishment of a “shelter belt” from Ikara to Birnin Gwari for planting of economic trees. The programme will engage a lot of women in the state; the women will be in charge of planting trees, nurturing them to earn a “stipend” of N7,000 each. The essence is to encourage greening; expert has since argued that the greener the environment the healthier the people living in the environment. The government aims at planting over tree million trees between now and next year.
The trees to be planted are used by Industries, Pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers, domestic uses and export etc. These trees include, MORINGA:  Everything part it is useful ranging from Moringa leaves, Oil, Seeds, Root, Powder and Stem etc. SHEA BUTTER: Shea Butter is used for Hair, Face, and Skin treatments; we also use it for oil, Soap and medicinal purposes etc., CASHEW: Leaves, nuts, tree, fruit, apple and juice etc., and NEEM: Neem tree, leaves, Oil, Oil for hair, Powder, Plants, and Seeds etc.
